      With the popularization of fiber optic networks and the large-scale deployment of FTTH, the application scenarios for fiber optic communication are increasing. Everyone knows that fiber access technology has many advantages, but the performance of a complete fiber optic link depends not only on the quality of the fiber itself, but also on the quality of connectors, construction techniques, and the field environment.       The main purpose of fiber optic network testing is to check the connection quality of fiber optic links, reduce potential failure factors, and locate fault points when failures occur.For fiber optic network testing, Hilink has launched a series of optical test instruments, providing a complete solution.

I. Fiber Link Loss Testing

1. Measure the loss of the entire link using a light source and an optical power meter. One end emits a fixed optical power, and the other end receives it. The link loss is determined by the difference between the transmitted and received power.

2. Test link loss using an OTDR, which can measure the loss of the entire link as well as the loss at connectors, splices, and other points along the link.

II. Fiber Optic Fault Location Testing

1. Use a Visual Fault Locator (Red Light Pen) to emit red light, visually identifying the location of a fault.

2. Locate faults using an OTDR. The OTDR can display the fault's position on a trace, enabling precise location.

III. Identifying Optical Cables

Use an Optical Cable Survey Instrument to quickly identify the target optical cable.

IV. PON Network Testing

The PON power meter is specifically designed and developed for FTTH PON networks. It works by extracting a very small portion of the optical signal online at any point in the PON network. This allows measurements to be taken during FTTx service activation, maintenance, and testing phases, reliably verifying and ensuring network communication requirements.
